WHAT: POP-UP DINNER
2012 series of "pop -up" dinner parties at Alias Restaurant on Monday nights.
We encourage both well-known guest chefs and aspiring chefs amongst our regular customers (under supervision of our own Marcellus Coleman!) to infiltrate our kitchen and take over our stove to create and surprise us with a $40 prix fixe menu that reflects her/his culinary skills and passion for food.

"Pierogi & Other Polish Treats"
Paulina and Greg are regular customers at Alias and great home cooks. They are inspired by the Polish fare that Paulina remembers her grandmother cooking and have accepted the challenge to cook for this dinner party. They will be helped in this endeavor by Alias Head Chef Marcellus Coleman.

Deborah Gorman NY culinary career began at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. She then moved on to A Voce, Grayz and Café Gray. In 2008 she founded and launched the catering company, The Good Knife. She has appeared on Kitchen Conspirators, Chopped, Raw Enthusiasm and was featured in the 2010 NYC Whitney biennial, the Ephemeral Edible Art of making ravioli. Deborah now spends time in New York and Los Angeles where she has been working at restaurants like Animal, producing and hosting The Golden Skillet (where grannies are encouraged to share cooking secrets - check it out http://thegoldenskillet.com/) food styling, cooking for secret suppers and teaching fresh pasta classes.

One of the founding chefs at the Bridge Cafe on Water Street, Ann's career has seen her at the helm of 3 successful Restaurants and a catering company. Ann currently works as a private chef, still finding time to pursue her other passion - teaching the culinary arts, sharing her experience and encouraging the next generation of graduates to excel!
